AIR Turkey Debuts New On Board Train Communication System at CEBIT

Istanbul, Turkey—October 16th, 2009 AIR Telecommunication Solutions Inc., a division of American International Radio, Inc. (AIR) with offices located in Istanbul and Ankara, Turkey made waves during their exhibition at CEBIT, showcasing a new On Board Train Communication System they had developed. This system had been in development since 2008 and has since yielded a successful contract with the Istanbul Municipality for their new metro trains. The new system works in conjunction with Motorola TETRA MTM800 radios and integrates with the municipality’s central control software.

Egon Prinz, Country Manager of Turkey for Motorola, along with Sales Director of System Business, Martin Fuerst, and Wireles Broadband Solutions Manager, Tomas Bergmann participated in the 5 day exhibition and supported the AIR Turkey team by debuting the new PTP 800 product line and providing overall support for the booth displays and technologies currently available through Motorola and AIR Turkey.

Tomas presented to key accounts and clients the new broadband solutions PTP 800 designed to meet demanding requirements for IP based solutions that provide high throughput connectivity, offer flexibility with existing and future systems, while reducing deployment time and cost. The PTP 800 product line contains is built with embedded web servers to manage links either locally or remotely while easily integrating with web- or SNMP-based network management systems, providing unbeatable performance.

AIR demonstrated to existing customers and potential customers the benefits of using a MOTOTRBO system, paired with SafeMobile’s AVL/GPS tracking system SafeDispatch.  This application would give customers access to location reporting, text messaging features, VoIP Dispatch, Telemetry, and email. SafeDispatch also delivers Multilanguage interface, flexible mapping solutions, and can be customized to each client’s needs or requirements. The MOTOTRBO system would provide customers such benefits as, increased calling capacity, operation in both analog and digital modes, and a 40% increase in battery life over that of analog radios.

Throughout the five day exhibition the AIR Turkey booth received numerous visitors, inquiring about the On Board Train Communication System, SafeDispatch and MOTOTRBO, and how broadband could enhance their current communication infrastructure.  The event showcased a clear message that AIR Turkey has solutions, together with Motorola, that will increase efficiencies, reduce deployment times and decrease cost.  A message that dealers, customers and key accounts heard loud and clear took aim at trying to integrate some of these products and technologies into their communications platforms.
