Two-tone and Five-tone Encoder

 

 

 

Zetron's Model 5 Encoder offers selective calling for two-tone and five-tone pagers at an affordable cost that are ideal for single site, single operator paging applications. The 12-digit keypad allows for manual entry of pager codes but also provides special programming features that can be accessed by entering a special code on the keypad. Once in programming mode the Model 5 is able to be configured to each type of pager being used and opens up access to several other features that enhance operation.

For two-tone paging the call size can be set to 100 or 1,000 eliminating the need to enter one or more leading digits of the pager number, providing a more efficient and cost effective use of time and money. The call size for five-tone pagers can be set to: 100, 1,000, 10,000, 100,000 or one million cap codes, with the tone series being able to be set at EIA, CCIR or ZVEI signaling formats.

 

The Model 5 has three built-in LED indicators to show when the encoder is paging, transmitting and when the microphone is open for voice transmission. A four digit display indicates the number of the pager being called, which remains on the display once the sequence is complete allowing user to immediately re-page without re-entry of the number.

Enhanced operational features include: transmitter keyup delay, to ensure the transmitter is fully keyed before the first tone is sent; talk time duration, which can be set from zero to 59 seconds in one-second increments and can be extended if necessary by simply holding a key on the keypad.
